Director's Corner
Welcome to ICME, the Stanford Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering!
We are thrilled to have you join our vibrant and dynamic community! You’re about to embark on an exciting journey that will not only challenge you academically but also open doors to incredible professional and personal growth.
At ICME, we pride ourselves on being a multidisciplinary program that spans across Stanford’s seven schools, integrating cutting-edge knowledge in engineering, medicine, the sciences, sustainability, business, and more. Whether you’re passionate about developing new algorithms, pushing the boundaries of computational theory, or tackling the pressing societal issues of our time, you’ve found the right place.
Here, you will gain core skills that lie at the intersection of computational mathematics, statistics, data science, and high-performance computing. Our mission is to equip you with the tools to address some of the world’s most complex challenges—using what we like to call Big Math to solve Big Questions.
We couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to ICME, and we look forward to seeing all that you’ll achieve. This is your time to learn, grow, and make a real impact.
Warmest regards,
Eric Darve
