ICME Director Honored for Commitment to Alumni

ICME Director Margot Gerritsen was presented the 2014 Richard W. Lyman Award in a special reception on the Stanford campus last week.  The Award recognizes one outstanding faculty member for extraordinary service to the alumni community and Stanford Alumni Association programs. Recipients generously donate time to alumni, go beyond the expectations of University appointments and embody the mission of Stanford Alumni Association.

During the ceremony, Provost John Etchemendy acknowledged a long list of reasons Professor Gerritsen was chosen for this award:  "for saying 'yes' to seemingly all requests extended by the alumni association...for the stunning breadth of her scholarship and amazing depth of her intellectual curiosity...for foraging a truly laudable path as a woman in a male-dominated field... for her extraordinary wit, decidedly engaging style and approachable manner."
