Event Recap - ICME 2021 Summer Workshops - Fundamentals of Data Science

ICME's 6th Annual Summer Workshop series Fundamentals of Data Science had another successful year! Taught by Stanford faculty and Stanford-Affiliated instructors, 13 workshops covered a wide range of foundational data science topics, such as Introduction to Machine Learning and Programming in Python, as well as more advanced courses for sharpening the skills of experienced attendees. It was the second year delivering live online summer workshops and it resulted in over 1900 registrations, the highest number since the program's inception in 2016.

The Summer Workshops series attract a diverse and globally dispersed audience ranging from the general public to other academic institutions (universities to high schools), corporate members, and national labs. We are pleased to offer discounted workshops to various groups and last August we provided over 250 complimentary registrations to historically black colleges and universities in Atlanta and diversity student programs on campus such as Stanford SURF and Summer First.  The plan is to continue offering our summer program online in August 2022.
