Anil Damle receives the Gerald J. Lieberman Fellowship

ICME congratulates Anil Damle, ICME PhD student, who was just selected as a recipient of a Gerald J. Lieberman Fellowship.

The one-year fellowship supports doctoral students whose research accomplishments, teaching, and University service have demonstrated their potential for becoming academic leaders.

This fellowship is named in honor of one of Stanford’s most distinguished citizens, Provost Emeritus Gerald J. Lieberman. A member of the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Professor Lieberman achieved eminence as a scholar, teacher, and university statesman in a career that spanned 43 years as a student and faculty member at Stanford. Besides serving as Provost, he was the Vice Provost and Dean of Research and Graduate Studies from 1980 until 1985. Throughout his years as a teacher and administrator, Professor Lieberman took a strong interest in advancing the educational opportunities and well-being of graduate students.
