Women in Data Science Conference: Celebrating International Women's Day

On March 8, 2021, more than 25,000 people celebrated International Women’s Day by participating in the Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide Conference, spearheaded by Stanford ICME and Stanford Data Science. In addition to the main conference, WiDS ambassadors are hosting 200+ regional events in 60+ countries. In all, between the WiDS Worldwide conference, WiDS regional events, and online, WiDS will have more than 100,000 participants worldwide this year. 

WiDS Worldwide Conference, International Women’s Day

WiDS Worldwide was a 24-hour virtual conference that covered a wide range of topics from healthcare and agriculture to security and fintech, and from data ethics and democratization to reproducibility and robustness of algorithms. WiDS Worldwide featured 110 outstanding women from 39 countries in keynotes, technical talks, workshops, and meet-the-speaker sessions. Networking and a Career Expo were available throughout the conference.

Season 4 of the WiDS podcast

is now live. Our first episode featured Professor Cecilia Aragon
