My background is mathematics and computer science.
Inspiration for pursuing graduate degree in CME
I wasn't fulfilled in industry because it wasn't challenging enough for me. I've always been passionate about mathematics and sciences in general. ICME seemed like a good challenge. Since I've been here, I've tried several things, tested different areas that interested me, and discovered where I really want to specialize. The PhD was the logical choice after the master's.
Specific research areas of interest
I'm interested in precision medicine and genetics. I find it really exciting because we have good data today, and there are many methods we can try to find meaningful results and insights. At the same time, I learn a lot about the human body and collaborate with cardiologists or neurologists in my case.
Impact I hope to have in my field and the world
Ideally, I aspire to develop a method that helps us understand more about the human body, leading to better diagnostics and personalized treatments that improve health outcomes worldwide.
Interests and hobbies
I like tennis, and I'm currently learning to play golf.
