Xtend Career Forum
ICME's annual recruitment event, Xtend, takes place each November at Stanford. Like no other career-themed event offered on campus, Xtend is designed to introduce partners from industry and national labs to qualified ICME PhD and MS candidates through Career Information Sessions, a networking breakfast and reception, and a full day of interviews.
ICME Partners are given the ICME Resume Book, a searchable PDF document of the resumes of all of the participating students from ICME and ICME-related departments. Partners and students then provide their preferences for interviewing, which provides data for the matching algorithm from our ICME C2 Consulting team, which in turn allows us to provide each participating partner and student with a personalized schedule of appointments. If you would like to participate in Xtend but are not yet a partner, consider joining our ICME Partner Program.
We will be having a (pre-Xtend) Networking Night on October 16, 2018. Details to follow.
The Xtend (main event) will be held on November 7, 2018.
GPUniversity of Deep Learning and Beyond
ICME and NVIDIA present GPUniversity of Deep Learning and Beyond. At this one-day event, participants explore the future of AI computing—from robotics and medicine to finance and self-driving cars—and discover how GPUs are powering this revolution with hands-on demos, deep learning workshops, and tech talks with experts who are creating new realities with AI.
Please check back to see when the next GPUniversity of Deep Learning and Beyond will be.
Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference
WiDS is a one-day technical conference that provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research in multiple domains, learn how leading-edge companies are leveraging data science for success, and connect with potential mentors, collaborators, and others in the field. You can get a feeling for the conference by watching this short highlight video.
The next WiDS Conference will be held on March 5, 2018.
Registration is now open! Visit widsconference.org for details.
A feature of the ICME Educational Affiliates Program, Xtrapolate Roundtable brings together academia and industry to converse about the latest key technologies and opportunities for collaboration. Each year, this roundtable-format event features a new focus area; topics have included machine and deep learning, data visualization, data ethics, research, and strategic curriculum development. Tech-talks, panel conversations, demonstrations, and networking round out this intimate event.
Xpo Roundtable and Symposium
Every May, ICME holds its Xpo Research Symposium, providing an up-close and inside look at current research and future plans for ICME faculty and students. ICME is engaged with over 50 faculty from 20-plus departments throughout Stanford. This is a unique opportunity to see how computational mathematics, data science, machine learning, scientific computing, and related fields are applied across a wide range of domain areas.
The next Xpo Roundtable and Symposium will be held on May 18, 2018.
