A: Your attendance will ensure that you qualify for the 2023 ICME Summer Workshop certification.

Q: How can I qualify for the ICME Summer Workshops Certification?

A: Attendees will be eligible for two types of certifications. Every participant who attends a workshop and completes the evaluation at the end will receive a Certificate of Completion.

In addition, participants looking to gain a broad knowledge base may work towards the ICME Fundamentals of Data Science Certificate. The Fundamentals certificate requires the completion of at least four workshops, one of which needs to be SWS 05 (Privacy & Responsible AI) or SWS 06 (Applications of Data Science). We strongly recommend that attendees wishing to attain the Fundamentals certificate also complete SWS 07 (Python for Data Science). Note that anyone arriving with no previous Python experience should complete SWS 02 (Introduction to Python) before enrolling in SWS 07.

Q: What is the benefit of receiving a certificate?

A: Our workshops are designed to provide attendees with hands-on experience(s) that contribute to their understanding of the fundamentals of data science and can be applied to their careers and/or research. Through earning a certificate, participants can tangibly demonstrate knowledge, experience, credibility, and confidence in their respective field or discipline by adding additional skills to their resume and LinkedIn profile.

Q: Can I combine classes from previous ICME Summer Workshops with classes from the current year to obtain the certificate?

A: All of the workshops must be completed within the same summer to qualify for the certification.

Q: When will I receive my ICME Summer Workshop Certification?

A: Certificates for qualifying attendees will be emailed by early September.
