Title: Mapping Dynamic Cell Systems: Integrating Imaging, AI, and Computational Biology

Abstract: CZ Biohub San Francisco integrates systems biology, imaging technologies, and AI to map dynamic cell systems across scales. In this seminar, the Imaging AI, Computational Microscopy, and Computational Biology groups will share their efforts to understand the emergence of cell types and cell states from large datasets.

The talk will feature innovations in computational methods for analyzing multimodal biological data, including imaging-driven approaches and advanced algorithms for biological discovery. Highlights include dynamic imaging and robust AI methods to predict cellular responses to perturbations, and development of 3D tracking algorithms on zebrafish live imaging data, which enable unprecedented insights into cellular dynamics and developmental processes.

Through a combination of advanced imaging, machine learning, and high-performance computation, we aim to reveal the principles underlying biological organization and change. Our multidisciplinary approach emphasizes open collaboration and tool development to accelerate scientific discovery for the broader community.

Speakers:

Shalin Mehta, Platform Leader, Computational Microscopy

Loic Royer, Sr. Group Leader & Director of Imaging AI

Yasin Senbabaoglu, Director of Computational Biology
