Congratulations to András Vasy, ICME faculty and professor of mathematics, on receiving the Bôcher Prize.
The American Mathematical Society is recognizing Professor Vasy for his 2013 Inventiones Mathematicae paper, “Microlocal analysis of asymptotically hyperbolic and Kerr-de Sitter spaces.” This prize is awarded every three years honoring work in analysis.
Professor Vasy specializes in researching partial differential equations. These equations can help describe a wide range of physical phenomena, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics and acoustics. Within this field, he has contributed to the fundamental understanding of scattering theory.
