Academic Requirements

 

*  Apply to graduate in Axess by the deadline:

Autumn Quarter: November 16, 2008

Winter Quarter: March 1, 2009

Spring Quarter: April 12, 2009

Summer Quarter: August 2, 2009

It is your responsibility to let the Registrar's office know that you are planning to graduate by applying to graduate in Axess. After the deadline, there will be a $50 late fee to process your application. Therefore, if you think that there is a remote chance that you may want to graduate, do apply. There is no penalty for withdrawing except for submitting the Withdrawal of Application to Graduate. Withdrawal Application(PDF)

 

MS students ONLY:

1. File program proposal that reflects the courses completed accurately. If you have taken courses that were not on the proposal submitted at the beginning of the program, please submit a revised proposal with proper signatures.

2. Make sure all your course work is graded for past quarters.

3. If you are planning to graduate in the summer quarter, you are welcome to walk through in the Commencement ceremony. Please submit the walkthrough petition.

Note: If you are planning to continue to the Ph.D. program or to enroll in another degree program at Stanford, please make sure to file the Graduate Authorization form well in time. International students should pay particular attention to this.

PHD students ONLY:

1.  If you are planning to submit your thesis in summer or fall and would like to participate in the spring conferral ceremony, please submit: walkthrough petition.

2.  If you are not a TGR student and are planning to complete dissertation Reading committee form, oral exam and dissertation submission all in one quarter, please make sure to file a list of courses that satisfies the Ph.D. course requirement well in advance.

3.  Return computers (if on loan) and keys to Durand and empty your locker and pick up the key/locker deposit on file.
